Dating back to the nineteenth century, blue enamel signs were among the first to be mass produced and widely used throughout continental Europe. Our Metropolitan blue collection is meticulously crafted after this archetypal style.
Steeped in the Danish design tradition, Engelhardt is our boldest and most personal collection. The collection draws on the work of the prolific Danish architect and designer Knud V. Engelhardt (1882-1931), whose pioneering typographic design has left a lasting mark.
At the northernmost tip of Denmark, sits the town of Skagen, a small fishing village turned famous artist colony. With its informal hand-stencilled typeface and an original ‘Falu red’ colour, our Lighthouse collection of porcelain enamelled signs evokes the intimate and vibrant atmosphere of this influential seaside community.
