When we set out to design the quintessential northern European house number, we knew we had to be rigorous. So, we took to the streets of Copenhagen. Block by block, we meticulously measured porcelain enamelled house numbers from the 19th century to get the proper dimensions, typography, trim, and colour. The result? Our hand-stencilled Christiansborg Metropolitan house number sign.

Inspired by the ultramarine porcelain enamelled signs found on townhouses and residential building facades throughout Paris, Berlin and other European cities, we designed our Ravnsborg Metropolitan house sign with both town and country in mind.

With a larger surface area, this porcelain enamel address plaque accommodates more information—and allows for bold typographic treatments. Our rich Metropolitan blue combined with a pure white produces a high contrast classic finish. We created our Dansborg Metropolitan name plate to complement our signature porcelain enamelled house numbers, but its glossy high-relief finish also makes it an exquisite individual piece. Fabricated in Europe using time-tested techniques, the Dansborg Metropolitan name plate is striking on a wood or brick surface, such as the exteriors of Dutch Colonial architecture in the northeastern United States and the American Colonial Revival style.
